the sims

i. love. the sims. i grew up playing The Sims 3 and i acquired most of the packs over the course of my childhood. a while after The Sims 4 was released, i moved over to it and now i play both games. these days i have all the packs because i use the anadius repack to pirate everything. fuck big corporations. live long and prosper.

anyway, i have a special interest in hacking, and since i'm autistic, i return to the sims and every other video game i play on a cycle like a dog pacing its way around the edge of a fenced-in yard. because of this, i discover new things about the game every time i come back to it. this time around, i've noticed that there is a suspicious lack of people datamining The Sims 3! what?? the sims 2 has been cracked open like an egg and is well-documented on the sims wiki, but it's as if no one has touched the sequel at all. no youtube videos, forum posts, nothing, just empty space. even specifics about some game functions, like the chances that a sim will die by meteor or get pregnant, are not documented with literal percentages and exact numbers but are instead vague on the wiki. i don't get it. s3pe exists, so it's not like datamining is impossble. the modding community is very active. let's see what we can find.

i'm also working on an All Ghosts Challenge (something i made up i think) where i play one household and kill sims until i have every type of sim death gravestone on the lot. it's taking a while because there are 21 total deaths with all packs. i'll be adding submenus here soon with both info about that and the datamining i'm gonna do.
